Description & Scope

Speed was of the essence for this Gatwick renovation, a prime location for getting to Gatwick Airport – and the perfect place to stay before catching an early morning flight. This hotel was still live during the course of this project, and we completed 36 rooms at pace, per week.

Our discreet but thorough approach involved the:

Full decoration of all bedrooms, including carpets and vinyl’s, furniture repairs and minor electrics

All bathrooms stripped, vanity units, tilling and sanitaryware replacements

A major focus on building out one of the biggest bar café restaurants concepts we’ve done for the Travelodge group – creating a vibrant space where friends, family and colleagues come together to pitstop before their onward flights and journeys

New layouts and reconfigurations for all communal areas

Modernisation was the focus, this extensive refurbishment brought the hotel in line with the latest brand styling, whilst achieving a fresh, functional and future-ready space.

With a live environment we focused on making sure our works were staggered in a way that closed off areas, so the work wasn’t seen by, or of impact to, guests.

The itinerary for this refurb included:

Discreet service – clearly defined ‘work’ zones with access route hidden away from sight meant guest were none-the-wiser
Clean operations – zero dust and zero visibility of tools or workmen
Constant communication – we kept in close contact with the hotel management teams to ensure tactful coordination around peak guest transition times
Flexible and understanding – our approach is to work with the flow of the hotel and handle areas of high traffic with care

Smoother than airport security, the IH Group team kept the schedule running on time, free from delays and with happy campers all round!
