Description & Scope

The 2024 Travelodge Rollout Programme was a major nationwide initiative, upgrading and transforming hotels across the UK to meet the latest brand standards.

Spanning a vast number of sites, the equivalent to 1 location a week actually, the programme involved everything from bedroom refurbishments to bathroom overhauls and the delivery of 13 brand-new bar café restaurant spaces – all neatly delivered within a 1 year, 52-week timeframe.

IH Group worked on live operational hotels, full brand conversion and minor design refreshes, but always the key goal remained the same: delivering high-quality, fast- turnaround refurbishments with minimal disruption to all guests and hotel operations.

Bedrooms

With so many rooms, consistency and speed were critical. Our works included a varying range of scopes, from full redecoration, new flooring, furniture repairs, ironmongery upgrades, and electrical updates.

We always complete projects in phases that suit each hotel, aiming to bring rooms back online quickly. Each room was brought up to spec with Travelodge’s latest design palette, offering guests a cleaner, more comfortable, and brand-aligned experience across every site.

Bathrooms

In many cases, due to the high wear and tear nature of the space, many of the bathrooms received a top-to-bottom refresh. Meaning, full strip outs and refits including new tiling, vanity units, sanitaryware, and modern walk-in showers.

These upgrades not only brought bathrooms in line with the current Travelodge styling, but also aimed to dramatically add value, reduce maintenance issues and provide long-term durability.

Restaurants

One of the standout features of this programme was the delivery of 13 bar café restaurant spaces – which included some of the largest in the Travelodge portfolio.

In order to complete these transformations, we had to consider everything from layout reconfigurations and new flooring to bespoke finishes, lighting schemes, and fit outs that were completed behind the scenes, if needed where possible.

Each space was designed to create a welcoming, multi-purpose environment for guests to relax, eat, and socialise – all wrapped up in the signature Travelodge style.
